About This Card
Barry Sanders’ 1989 Score #257 rookie card jumps off the page. The bright green border is hard to miss. A young Sanders fills the portrait in his blue Detroit Lions jersey. Across the top, the card proudly says “1989 Rookie.” Score placed Sanders in its regular 1989 football set, before his Topps Traded and later-series Pro Set rookies arrived. That timing helps this card stand out. The simple portrait and bold colors also make it easy to spot at a card show. For many football collectors, this is the Barry Sanders rookie card—the one that brings back the thrill of finding a future legend in a pack.
